On July 7-8, 2012, the Paris Ile-de-France Triathlon - Grand Prix Lyonnaise des Eaux will reach a new milestone by opening its Olympic Distance triathlon to some 5000 individual or relay participants. This race promises to be a magical moment for sports lovers who will have the opportunity to take part in the largest triathlon in France in the heart of the most beautiful city in the world!
Just one month before the Olympic Games in London, the world’s best triathletes will be present in Paris for the Grand Prix Lyonnaise des Eaux Elite races. The leading French clubs will put forward their best team members to take the maximum number of points and win the title of 2012 French Clubs Champion at the outcome of 5 races.

Saturday July 7: Grand Prix Lyonnaise des Eaux race – French division one club championship (for Elite athletes)
750m swim - 20km bike - 5km run
Sunday July 8: Olympic Distance triathlon
Format: 1500m swim - 40km bike - 10km run
Number of participants: 4,300 individual participants and 200 relay teams
Timings:
- 7h50: First Wave start (1,500 participants)
- 8h10: Second Wave start (1,500 participants)
- 8h30: Third Wave start (1,500 participants)
